16th Annual Conference Raises Human Trafficking Awareness

For the 16th year, the University of Toledo will be hosting a 2-day conference on the topic of human trafficking on September 19 & 20, 2019. This amazing conference is a great opportunity to learn about the issue of human trafficking, explore the latest research in the field, and network with other professionals working for social justice. Thousands of people will gather on campus, representing most of the states across the nation and many international countries as well.

Speakers will share presentations on topics such as:
• transnational sex trafficking
• awareness of labor trafficking for at-risk youth
• community approaches to expand support for survivors
• understanding trauma and the impact of commercial sexual exploitation
• tips for supporting families and loved ones of sex trafficking victims
• and many, many more!

Continuing education has been secured for social work, counseling, marriage & family therapy, chemical dependency, DODD, health education, public health, occupational therapy, nursing, and law.
